Job Description:
Reporting to the Head of Investment Analysis in Ferrovial, we are looking for an Investment Analysis Associate, whose main function will be to analyze new investment and divestment opportunities, monitor the performance of portfolio companies against their business plan, and keep current on global economic and investment trends to help the Company make well-informed capital allocation decisions with the goal of optimizing long-term shareholder returns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Detailed analysis of investment and divestment proposals:
- Collaborate with the proposing business units and other corporate functions (i.e. financing, tax, legal, etc.) to facilitate optimal, effective, and rigorous decision-making processes.
- Present views and recommendations within Ferrovial Investment Analysis team ahead of Ferrovial Investment Committees and Board of Directors’ meetings.
- Preparation and review of impairment tests and financial models with accounting impact.
- Preparation of the consolidated US tax model on which the recovery of tax credits is justified.
- Manage the applicable accounting and reporting requirements to ensure regulatory compliance and data accuracy and traceability.
- Develop an in-depth knowledge of the Company’s medium and long-term forecasts to support the Company’s capital allocation decisions.
- Work closely with Ferrovial Project and Corporate Finance team and financial entities in the analysis and optimization of capital structure on leveraged transactions.
- Work closely with the Ferrovial Strategy team in the analysis of competitors, strategic markets, value creation and diversification strategies.
- Stay current on regulation, geopolitics, market trends, and deal flow to expand the Company’s market intelligence and inform investment and divestment decisions.
Professional Experience & Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in a financial role (investment analysis, project financing, business development, financial modeling, etc.).
- Experience in infrastructure investment, private equity or investment banking will be highly valued.
- Experience in working with financial models in Excel, being able to define/review investment scenarios and specific sensitivities to quantify the main risks and opportunities.
- Strategic thinker with excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Education & Language skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, or a related field.
- MBA, a similar graduate degree or CFA will be highly valued.
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
